In North Carolina’s Triangle area, we know all about quickly changing temperatures — from 40 degrees one day to 80 degrees the next. To prepare for those fluctuating temperatures, we recommend contacting Rainy Days in March to schedule your irrigation system’s Spring Startup because you’ll need to have your backflow preventer available. During the Spring Startup, we attach your backflow preventer, turn on the main ball valve, pressurize the system, check the backflow preventer for leaks, and make any necessary repairs. We will also run each zone, inspect and adjust all sprinkler heads, test the rain sensor, and set the controller for proper seasonal conditions.
If you know you’ve sustained Winter damage, please contact us as soon as possible during Winter so we can address those repairs prior to Spring Startups. The Rainy Days team is also experienced in starting up sprinklers that are not connected to municipal water distribution systems.
