Veterans Day is a federal holiday observed annually on November 11th. Many Americans mistakenly believe that Veterans Day is the day America sets aside to honor American military personnel who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained from combat. That’s not quite true. Memorial Day is the day set aside to honor America’s war dead. Veterans Day is intended to honor and thank all military personnel who served the United States in all wars, particularly living veterans. It is marked by parades and church services and in many places the American flag is hung at half mast. A period of silence lasting two minutes may be held at 11am. However you chose to observe this day, remember to honor those who have served in our armed services.

Winterization is an important part of maintaining a properly running lawn sprinkler system.

Irrigation and sprinkler systems must be drained before the first prolonged period of cold weather strikes or else the water in the system can freeze, cracking the pipes. Neglecting this task can result in costly repair bills or a ruined sprinkler system.
